ReporterPitch is a collaborative editorial effort between a reporter and news producer to compile stories from working journalists everywhere in the hopes of sharing good stories and making better news content.
ReporterPitch will continue to publish the newsletter, but the web site will be on hold for a while. Anyone who has ever worked too much online knows that sometimes windows systems get too many invaders. The computer that houses RP needs to be scrubbed, formatted, etc. So, Once that is done, we'll put more up online. In the meantime, if you are new here, welcome, please sign up with the form on the left. Thanks.

Here are some stories pitched recently...
• Video monitors in cars and SUVs, an RP follow-up...
• Smoke breaks hurting government services?
• Organ sharing on-line...
• Recycling disposable diapers...
• Office product stores face nationwide environmental effort this month...
• Court victory for investigative reporters...
• The leading cause of death for pregnant women...
• Snow days for some are rough days for others, turn the story around...
• School message boards a source for stories...

Quoted
"A good journalist has a good rolodex . . . You're only as good as that, you don't have time to do the research." - Victor Schwartz, Esq.
Mr. Schwartz is a nationally known attorney at the forefront of tort reform. He is General Counsel for American Tort Reform Association and a partner in the Washington office of Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP where he chairs their Public Policy Group. I had the opportunity to speak to him as part of a Distinguished Visitors series at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He went on to say that he will give you the best source that is the antithesis of his position because he knows then you'll come back to him. I asked him about a common criticism of journalists that we often oversimplify legal issues or simply don't understand them. Mr. Schwartz also said that the press has always been fair to him even though he hasn't always represented the most popular clients.
